Pay those phone bills !!!
Tennessee, USA : - State Deputy Finance Commissioner Jerry Adams spent 13 hours locked in a broken elevator at the State Capitol. He couldn't use the emergency phone to summon help because the phone bill wasn't paid. Therefore, it was out of service.
Adams oversees the state's 25 billion dollar budget. He was working alone one weekend when the elevator malfunctioned and became stuck between floors.
According to Lola Potter of the Finance Department, the phone bill was sent to the Department of Human Services. The bill went unpaid, which resulted in service interruption. Adams eventually was rescued when the cleaning crew arrived in the morning.
